How much fun we had!!! My good (even better now!) friend Janet got tickets to Martha and invited ME to go. It was so interesting and so fun. We stood in line, outside, from 11:30 until 2:30. We didn't have to, but we arrived early and wanted to be up close and personal, so we got in line early. We were numbers 3 and 4 and sat in the front row! Whew hoo!
Why are some of my photos turning??? GRRR! They are perfectly upright in Paintshop Pro... but they turn sideways in Blogger. Anyone?
Okay... well, put your right ear on your right shoulder and you will see the awning above Martha's Studio
on 26th Street. Love the colors!
So, there are a few funny (?) stories about our day. We got there very early, so we could get good seats. We were SOOOO excited to see that we were in the front row and could check out the kitchen up-close and we were almost bouncing up and down like little kids. Then Martha came in and we saw her for about 1 second and the cameras ALL pulled in directly in front of us! The cue card people, everyone was standing in front of us on the floor! We had to watch the show on a monitor above her. We just looked at each other and laughed. Anyway, we watched the cooking segment on tv, but then they moved to the craftroom and we could see that better.
Also, you know me and my cameras, right? I love taking pictures with my new camera, but I figured I would be walking all around NY City, so I didn't want to carry a large camera and decided on my little point-and-shoot instead. Unfortunately, my new memory card wouldn't work in my camera, but I didn't know until I got there, so I ended up taking pictures with my phone. Boooo!!!
Here is the kitchen as we saw it. So pretty!
The table you see is where the craftroom is and we could see that really well because the cameras were not in our way.
The next segment was here RIGHT directly in front of us and the cameras were off to the side and behind us. Martha, nicely, answered some audience questions. Most people just wanted to know HOW she does it ALL.
The other story, that sounds really petty, but there was a show taped before ours and the audience came out before us with a cute "Martha" shopping bag with a calendar and a juicer/blender in it. We were very excited to see what we would get. I know they don't have to even do anything, but it was still exciting. So, we ended up getting a Carbon Monoxide/Smoke Detector from Lowes... and no bag. It was just handed to us, so we had to carry them around the city all day... not even in a bag. Unfortunately, we both have our houses, hard-wired with smoke detectors, etc. Oh well, it is the thought, right? LOL!
I'd do it again. It really was fun. Oh... and we walked over to 22nd Street to an awesome cake decorating shop where I got some awesome stuff! I got THESE... Ninjabread Men cookie cutters. Can't wait to make them for my boys! Hee hee! I linked the picture with a place you can get them online if you are interested.. .just click on the picture and it will take you there.
I also got these...
Cupcake with Candle Metal Cookie Cutter for Birthday Party Favors or Scrapbooking
and Circle Cookie Cutter - 4-inch (Scalloped Edge)
and these in apple green and light blue! Sooooo cute! I am so excited to play with them.
8MM Ivory Edible Pearls
oh and I also got some of this.... edible glitter known as disco dust. I'm sure you will see some of that soon. Can't wait to try it on some cookies!
Rainbow Disco Dust, 3 grams
It was a really good day and a really good experience!

Tami!! You are SOO LUCKY & I am SOOO jealous!! lol How fun! I hope I am lucky enough to go to one of her shows one day : ) Martha is amazing!
Lucky duck!! How exciting and fun!! Love the ninja cookie cutters...wicked cute!
I dragged my husband to see her show 3 years ago and had such a great time. We had decent seats, and got some nice goodies too, some fancy pop-up books (the Star Wars one was great) and a cook book. I'd love to go again sometime if I can swing it.
I love those cookie cutters!
