A Camera Case Tutorial (Not!)

I tried really hard to come up with a tutorial for the camera case I made today.  Unfortunately, there were too many steps and too many pictures and it was getting too confusing to both do the tutorial and actually construct the case.  I have two more cameras which need cases, so I will try to do a tutorial later for the other ones.  Now that I know how to do it.

I started at 11:00AM and worked until 2:00PM this afternoon. Then I worked again from 6:00PM until 8:30PM and I finished this case.  There are still a few little strings that need to be trimmed, but here it is.

What is up with this?  This picture shows up okay in PaintShop Pro, but then it
shows up sideways on Blogger?  Well, turn your head and you will be able to
see it. Sorry.  Blogger glitch?
This is my little friend who helped me with construction.  If only she had written the
tutorial for me.

My Birthday Present! A Canon Digital Rebel

Whew hoo!  My birthday isn't until this coming Friday, but my husband surprised me with my birthday present early so I could learn to use it by my birthday. It is the Canon Digital Rebel.  I am sure he's regretting it because I've been taking lots and lots of practice pictures on him.

Isn't he sweet?  And adorable?  And wonderful?  {Especially today}  Thank you, My Sweet!  I love my present and I love you!

So, I've been taking lots and lots of pictures.  Just playing with all of the settings.  I really need to sit down and read the manual more, but here are a few pictures I took today.

My adorable 7-year-old baby.

This one was taken inside the house.  Not sure I love it, but I will play with the indoor stuff next.
His eyes look amazing though.
Swinging on the rope swing in our yard.
Awe... so sweet!  My green-eyed,10-year-old.
 Total eyelash shot.

Climbing trees... as usual.

 Being silly in the house.

My Mika

I'm so excited!  Love the things I can do already and I can't even do anything yet.  :-)

This is the new camera!  So awesome.  Hopefully you will soon be seeing lots of great photos from it.

Mini Cheeseball Pumpkin Appetizer

Awe... aren't they sweet?  These are such a simple appetizer that anyone can make them!  They were a big hit in both flavor and  cuteness.  Because I had some very picky eaters eating these, I made some {the darker pumpkins} with a spicy mixture on top, but I also made some plain for those who don't like things spicier.

Mini Cheeseball Pumpkin Appetizer

8 oz block of cream cheese
6 oz finely shredded orange cheddar cheese
sesame stick snacks
Equal parts {approx. 1/4 tsp each}
chili powder
ceyenne pepper
black pepper
Mini toasts or crackers

Mix 8 oz cream cheese with 3 oz orange cheddar in your mixer bowl.  Roll 1 tsp (more or less depending on the size you'd like) of the cheese mixture into balls.  Roll all of the balls in the remaining shredded cheddar to coat.  Roll half of the balls in the spice mixture to create the darker, spicier pumpkins.  Place one sesame stick into each pumpkin to create a stem & flatten the ball slightly.  Serve on small toasts or crackers.

These are the mini toasts I used.  So adorable!
