Christmas Cookie Party 2010

I know I just showed you cookies yesterday, but we had our annual get together for cookie decorating, so
I thought I would share some of our fun cookies we made.  I promise... no more cookie talk after this
post!!!

These are my friend, Janet's cookies!  Aren't they cute?  I was so busy making my own that I forgot to take pictures of hers, so she sent me some pictures.  I love her lighter colored cookies, but I love the taste of brown sugar in mine, so I used the darker recipe.

These are the ones I made today.  ZZZZ!!! I'm so tired and my back hurts.  I worked on them alllll day!
Off to bed!

After school, my boys made some of their own.  I taught them some of the techniques and they
did quite well.  My 10 year old made the ones on the left and the black one on the bottom.  My almost 8 year old made the ones on the right.  He really liked playing with the bags of icing.

Set up... pre-partying

That was a lot of hard work, but they will make nice presents.
Happy Holidays to you all!

Holiday Cookies

I had so much fun making cookies and decorating them today.  I think these cookies turned out the best so far, so I had to share them on two of my blogs since I have different followers on both blogs!  Hope you enjoy them.  If you want the recipe for the cookies or the icing, hop over to my food blog!

Awesome Giveaways!

The lovely ladies at my favorite crafting website are hosting a giveaway and telling you about another AWESOME giveaway at GameStop!  You really have to go check it out.  My boys would jump up
and down for DAYS if I won it.

Here's the url.... go over to the DIY Dish and check it out!

In order to enter, I have to do this Meme... so here are my answers.

TodaysMama (link to: http://bit.ly/tmwishlist) and GameStop (link to: http://bit.ly/gamestop10) are giving away a sleighful of gifts this holiday season and to enter I’m sharing this meme with you.

1. What is your holiday wish for your family?
That my dad heals nicely from his surgery and feels better very soon.
2. What is your Christmas morning / Hanukkah Nightly tradition?
We get up, have nut roll (from the church) for breakfast with coffee or tea.  Then we start,
like wild animals, ripping open presents!  Then I start making the Christmas lunch while
the kids play and play and watch the Rose Bowl parade.
3. If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be?
A nice trip somewhere with my family.
4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?
Decorating the house, playing Christmas music in the car on the way to school, go to the tree-lighting
       ceremony downtown, & go caroling.
5. What games did you play with your family growing up?
We played a lot of card games as we got older (Rummy, etc), but as a kid I loved Candyland
and Mousetrap.  And yes, my kids own those games... but rarely ever want to play them. :-(
6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?
Basically the traditional stuff... dinner, stockings, opening 1 present on Christmas Eve.
7. Where would you go for a Christmas/Hanukkah-away-from-home trip?
I really don't want to be away from home for the holidays, but I'd probably head to my Mom and
Dad's to spend it with more family.
8. Check out GameStop and tell us, what are the three top items on your GameStop Wish List this year?
Disney Epic Mickey, Sonic Colors, Kirby's Epic Yarn (so cute!)

Go over there and play along!
