Shabby New Purse!

Oh... I love making these purses! I'm so excited about this one. It is corduroy and has cute rickrack showing up between each color. Cute! I don't know if I will be able to sell these one Etsy! I might have to make one of each for myself and then copy them to sell. LOL! The buttons are vintage.

Cute Dress Card

Below is a card I made and for which I made a pattern ... also below! I used wallpaper for the dress. It isn't attached to the card yet, but I couldn't wait to get it on my blog. Isn't it cute???

Today's Sewing Project

Okay... I haven't been sewing long as you can see on my previous posts, but I seriously whipped this up in about 3 hours. It was so much fun! I got the pattern for free by signing up for a newsletter on "You Can Make This". I had most of the fabrics and just picked up a fat quarter of the black polkadots! The whole purse is made with just 3 fat quarters and some fusible fleece and fusible interfacing. I added the divider in the inside and changed the inside lining to a different fabric.... added 3 vintage buttons and viola...a cute purse! I LOVE the way it turned out!!!

And so you can see the size of it... Here's me jet-setting out the door with my trendy little bag....

Another Apron

Okay... I may have gone apron crazy! I figure I might need one to go with every outfit I own. The only problem? Where to store them all? I may start selling them on Etsy if I get good enough at making them. Take a look for yourself! Wish I had someone else who would model them for me though.... V. says, "No way, Mom... that would just be embarrassing."

Oh... and seeing these boots I have on reminds me... I didn't show you the awesome red boots I found at Salvation Army for a meer $3.99. I also found the skinny jeans there that I have on below. LOVE them! $5.99. Whew hoo!

Sewing Fun

In the past few weeks, I've been playing with some fabric scraps that my aunt gave me along with some felt which I had in my craftroom. Here are some of the fun things I've made.

The teacup and the pink felt are hand painted. Creates a cute texture! The flowers are hooked on with brads so that they can be removed for laundering.

This one has a pocket to put your punch card in!
This is my favorite new thing.... aprons! I started with the Holly Hobby one below and then moved to this trendy, flirty blue and brown one. This is my favorite and the one I will keep for myself!

Ballerina Doll and Handmade Pin

Here's the paper doll that I created using a digital scrapbooking kit called Love Bug from Kay Miller Designs. Isn't she cute? There is tulle coming out of the top of her hat which actually bends down behind her now. She is wearing a princess hat. Her tutu is made from two paper flowers and the top of it is made of felt and some crystals. Her hair and hat are made from two hearts which were cut out and turned upside down.

Another fun creation I did this week is a pin made of felt. It is hand stitched, hand painted (the polkadots on pink) and has a pretty vintage button on top and brad polkadots on the leaf. The card is also decorated by me.
