Cozy?

I've made some more coffee cozies today. This is my Shabby Princess one. I can totally see a little girl with it around her hot chocolate or her chai tea latte.

This one is totally soft and somewhat whimsical. I don't have a name for it yet. Any ideas?

Free Cupcake Wrappers!

Well, the 4th is over. We always mean to have a party for the 4th, but somehow, it never works out. This year was really nice because we made it work out. I think everyone who came enjoyed the food and had a good time.

I am glad we did it. I always get crazy a day or two before entertaining and wonder why I am doing it. Then the day after I think, I'm really glad I did it. Do you ever feel this way about entertaining, or is it just me?

Below are the yummy brownies I made. They are just plain old brownies, but I made them in a muffin tin so that every edge gets that yummy chewy effect that everyone loves. They were a big hit. I just put a Betty Crocker canned icing on them and used the marshmallow fondant I had left over from the bug cupcakes for the stars and a heart confetti by Wilton. Oh, and I made some 4th of July cupcake wrappers at the last minute. If you'd like them, they are below.

I also made this pillow cover for the other corner of the porch on Friday night. It could use a bigger pillow, but the form I had was too small.

Be sure to click on them and open then into the full-size before trying to save these or they won't print correctly.

A friend of ours opened a new cafe, so I'm going to be selling my coffee cozies at her shop. Here are the ones I finished the other day.

Enjoy!

4th of July Decor

We decided to get some people together on Saturday for a little 4th of July BBQ, so I had to get the back porch into the spirit. Unfortunately navy and red are not really my color scheme, so I had to start creating. After dinner tonight, I sewed a pillow, this banner, the pictures in the frames below, some ribbon napkin rings with little buttons sewn on, a little flag with a pencil for the pole (on the heart below) and a paper banner that Martha had on her site.

These pictures were taken at night, so they aren't the greatest, but I'm sure more pictures will be taken during daylight hours.

I had so much fun making this banner. I've wanted to do one for a while, but never did. Now I just have to take it down and iron it. It is really wrinkled!
This is an old 7-up crate that I have up on the wall.

I moved this cup. It has a floating candle in it. I put it in front of the jar and the picture.
I really need to do some dusting out here!
These pictures and the sleeping cat one above were done with some clipart and a digital scrapbooking kit. They add a little festive feel, don't you think?
I made a pillow cover for the pillow that goes on this porch. I will probably do another for the other corner tomorrow. Ran out of time and steam tonight.

I hope to upload our pictures from Niagra Falls tomorrow.... if time allows. I have to start shopping & cooking for Saturday, so we shall see!
Hope you all have a great 4th!!!
