Handmade Pillow

I finished a pillow made from a vintage tablecloth for my friend today.  I think it turned out rather well.  If it doesn't work in her home, I think it could find a nice home right here on my porch amongst my pillows, don't you think???

One More Week!

Can you believe we are still in school in NY....  Until the 24th!?!  I'm so looking forward to my kids being home.

Lots of fun things are going on today.  I made some teacher cards for the end of the school year.  I had to get those done.... you can see them on my cardmaking blog if you'd like.  I also repainted the poolhouse floor.  It may have been a big fat mistake painting it white, but it does look SO nice.  It is also really easy to paint.  Just dump the paint from the can, onto the concrete floor and roll.  It really only takes about 10 minutes.  I bought special paint with sand it so that it isn't slippery.  I also had to repaint part of one of the walls.  We had carpenter ants eating the wall, so dear husband replaced the wall and killed the ants.  They sure make a mess!  Isn't the white floor cute though?  I hand painted the mats for each room.

Also today....

My friend Janet, whom I have coffee with most mornings, made the most delicious strawberry jam and gave us a jar.  The boys were so excited and each had two pieces of bread with homemade jam on it after school today.  They told me to take it easy so they would have some for their lunches tomorrow.  Yummy!!!

More fun today....

Today I recieved my pretty prize I won a few weeks ago on Tatertots and Jello!  The prize was made by Boppy by Design!  She made them in whichever colors I liked, so I'm so excited to have them!  Check this out!  This is the belt I got.  It doesn't look good with the outfit I have on, so I just took a picture on the counter.  Cute!  The front has 4 fabric flowers and it ties in the back.  Really cute and I have the perfect skirt to wear with it.

This is a terrible picture that I took with my webcam, but you'll get the idea.  I won this adorable crocheted headband also from Boppy By Design!  Love it.  It might be a bit young for me, so my little niece, Ella, might get it.  She would be adorable in it!  {Maybe I should have smiled? Why is it so hard to take a picture of yourself??? }

Poolside

I spent the afternoon repainting my little bird feeder and planting my zinnias beside the pool. I also dragged all of the HEAVY metal furniture down from the garage attic. (Well, not the table because we kept it out all winter) OMG... I think I will have bruises on my hip bones.  Seriously! 

Anyway, here are the pictures of my flowers and feeder.  The feeder had become totally faded due to the direct sunlight, so I took my decorative paints out and painted right beside the pool.  I am going to spray it with an acrylic coating tomorrow.... there may be some stripes added as well.

I had a little friend helping me with my painting.  Our neighbor's cats love to come "help" me do whatever it is I am doing outside.  Today he knocked over the entire palette of paint onto the patio.  Stinker!  Serves him right getting white paint on his little nose. 

The other day, I was weeding and along came kitty.  He took a flying leap from a ledge next to me right onto my shoulder with his front paws and his hind paws were on my forearm.  He didn't stick his claws in me though.  I laughed so hard at this crazy cat... I'm sure if the neighbors had heard me, they would have wondered if I had gone insane.  Of course, he did stick his claws in me in this picture.  That is my pant leg he is climbing up.  In another helpful instance, little Mr. here stuck his head through a bush just as I was clipping away on the side.  He was almost missing his whiskers!

All is well though and he is just fine and still very helpful.  Especially when I bend over

to pull weeds and he jumps up onto my back like it is a table.  Cute and cuddly, but silly and sinister at times!
